Preston North End have today announced the signing of Arsenal forward Stephy Mavididi.
The 19-year-old has put pen to paper on a loan deal which will last the duration of the 2017/18 season which begins for Preston on Saturday afternoon when Sheffield Wednesday come to Deepdale.
Mavididi won’t be available to feature in the season opener but will be in the squad on Tuesday night when Preston make the short trip to Accrington Stanley.
The French attacker has been scoring goals for fun in the Arsenal youth setup for years but last season got his first taste of first-team football at Charlton Athletic.
Unfortunately for Mavididi, his loan spell was forced to be cut short due to an injury he picked up just five games into his time with the Addicks.
Despite not finding the net for Charlton, reviews from the supporters are only positive after impressing in a red shirt.
Charlton boss Karl Robinson expressed his desire to bring Mavididi back to the club earlier in the week, but stated that he was joining a Championship club on loan.
He is a highly versatile player who can occupy a position on either flank as well as up top.
His blistering pace and outstanding dribbling has excited a lot of the North End fans who will be hoping to see Mavididi light up the Championship this season.
