The club have announced the signing of Rotherham defender Darnell Fisher on a three-year deal.
Fisher, who is 23 years of age, has been signed for an undisclosed fee and becomes Alex Neil’s first signing since taking over at Deepdale.
The full-back arrives in Preston to bolster the backline which is looking relatively weak after the injury captain Tom Clarke sustained towards the end of last season.
Despite a disappointing spell with Rotherham last season in a campaign where the club finished rock-bottom of the Championship, Neil has seen enough attractive traits in Fisher to bring him to the club.
The defender started his career with Scottish giants Celtic then moved on to play for St Johnstone and most recently Rotherham.
He will now challenge Marnick Vermijl, Liam Grimshaw and the returning Calum Woods for the right-back spot which was filled by several players last season, including former loanee Alex Baptiste.
